If your bike is under warranty, use whatever the dealer tells you to use....Come back and ask again after your warranty is over.[/align]

Do not use syn oil for the primary. You would be throwing away money. Use whatever dyno oil is on sale- 5w30, 10w30,whatever.
ATF works fine and is helpful in determining if oil leaks are engine, primary or tranny.
The splash lube environment in the primary doesn't require a super special oil.

DO NOT use ordinary car engine oil on sale at Walmart. Many automotive oils use friction modifiers which are not compatible with wet clutches. Use only lubricants reccomended for the primary chain case. The H-D formula+ is great. Amsoil, Mobil-1, or Redline if you prefer synthetic. Right now I've got Syn3 in my primary because I just happened to have a couple bottles on hand. It's just fine. I use Amsoil 20-50 in the crankcase and Redline Shockproof in the trans. Other than lubricating, primary oil also cools the clutch. Another reason to use synthetic since it handles heat much better than Dino.

Pardon my ignorance but when HD move away from Primary oil to the multi's ? I have no hands on with the twinkies so I'd like to get a bit educated here .
You Amsoil fanboys kill me but if that stuff floats your boat ... and before the flames fly I was in the industry for a while as well involved in very high speed high temp equipment I know more than a little about oil .
