Angry HD leather jackets

I received a gift certificate for the hd dealer for Christmas and decided to put it towards a nice leather jacket. When I looked at the dealer, the nice ones were all $450 on up and made in CHINA! WTF? For those prices couldn't they find some one in the US to make them? I bought a HD because I wanted an American made bike, guess I'll get a non HD jacket for a lot less!

Just a suggestion you could try if you want a good jacket made in the USA. Try putting the gift certificate on Craigslist for like a 10% discount (for cash) and use the proceeds to buy a jacket from Fox Creek. Just a thought.

Definitely skip the HD jackets unless they are on sale at 50%+ off. Much better jackets can be had for much less money. No need to pay an inflated price for a Chinese jacket with an HD logo and provide free advertising for HD.

Several U.S. makes can help you out:

Schott, Brooks, Vanson, River Road, others I can't think of at the moment.

HD leather is lame. Look for something else. I have had Kerr for years, there out of biz now but there are other very good options that are way better than the HD stuff. JMO.

I paid 375 for my HD leather...

It has two HD logos on it. I was looking for the most plain looking jacket they had on the rack and that is what they had. That being said...it is very well made and fits great. I am not sure where it was made.

The fact that an american company is selling it is enough for me.

It's not the leather that costs...it's the logo. Sad but true.

I have an HD Jacket I got almost three years ago. Had pockets for armor in the elbows and shoulders so I put that in. Went down with it on back in Sept. 2010 and the jacket held up great. Looks a little more scuffed and a couple zippers failed but that was about it. Still wear it today.
