Read only if you've been to Sturgis.

Crazy Horse is only open like that one weekend a year, usually the first weekend in June. Very cool and worth the effort to hike up there. The Hills are beautiful all year round.

I have been staying at the super 8 hotel in Spearfish SD for the last few runs. Last year the price was about 250 a nite. Spearfish is 19 miles from Sturgis, and is right at the freeway. And Spearfish Canyon is a beautiful 25 mile ride into deadwood.

Last year was my first year to Sturgis. We got out there Saturday before the official start and left the following Saturday. We went with 2 other couples and another guy. We rented a house in Blackhawk which is about 10 minutes from Rapid City. To me it was purfect location. The roads were packed but still had awesome time. Only went into Sturgis a few times, but we wanted to see the Rally in all it's glory..Can't wait to go back

When buying a t shirt from one eyed jacks, don't let the girl take your credit card into the back room for 20 seconds. She might have a new wardrobe ordered online before you get home.Don't ask me how i know.

We went this past year and stayed on Iron Mountain Road here:

Not a party campground and great jumping off spot for Iron Mountain Road, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Crazy Horse, and Mt Rushmore and it's like 7 miles from Keystone...The owners are bikers and know all the short cuts around the area, cause the maps can be confusing. We had an awesome time, rented one of the smaller cabins..
Print this map and keep a copy in your jacket:

Saturday and Sunday not a lot of bikes in the Black Hills, but once MOnday started (official start of Sturgis) it was pretty crazy. Just ride your ride..
A time gets closer go onto the Sturgis Rally webpage and search for places that offer FREE Biker Breakfasts..that's how we started every day!
