Sears Red Motorcycle Jack!!! Broken!!!
I'm not sure how long I have had this thing, but I had the bike up on it today and I noticed a puddle of fluid under the bike once I got it raised. Obvioulsy, I immediately panicked thinking the bike was leaking. However, it appears it is the hyraulic fluid from the cylinder must have sprung a leak. I had to manually take out the cotter pin on the release lever to get the bike down.
Anyone know how long the warranty is on this "junk"?
I have no idea where my receipt is, but I am going to call Sears on Monday and inquire if I can bring it back for an upgraded model.
I believe there is a thread here on whether it is a good buy. No way!! Spend a little more money and get a good one!!!

That sux. I've had my "red lift" for about 3 years now and never had a problem, but there were a couple of threads a while back about the jacks going south. Hope they honor their warranty.

I had the exact same thing happen to one I owned for almost a year. I buy alot from a local Sears so was fortunate, he let me exchange without reciept. The second one didthe same thing in less than a month. Also if the floor was the slightest unlevel it would not roll. Took it back and paid the additional $$ and got the aluminum one. Glad I did...it is 10 times the jack as the other.Much easierto control raising and lowering.

All of these jacks; Sears, Northern Tools, all the ones that cost under $100, their "throw-aways" guys! Get one that's $200-300 for the long haul, or it's just get what you can from the cheepies!

Still dont know if it was worth it but for what its worth, there are some other jacks made in usa that are a little bigger/sterdier. but cost $$ . You could brake 5 or 6 of the sears one's to break even and stability may be mental?

Same problem here....its about 2 years old, and I have to continuosly add haydrolic oil. I am loking for a new bottle jack to put in place of the one on the lift..Otherwise, it'll be a while before I can afford the one I really want.
