for the first time on her own bike. There are some twisties on the way, I jsut pray no squids come 'round the corner real fast and pass her scaring the sh^t outta her. Y'all pray for smooth sailing. Glad to hear your gal is doing so well on her new bike but it scares me that you may be pushing her too hard too fast. The ride to the Rock Store is a tough ride and I think she should have had more experience before making that trip. Hope all went well and you had a good day.

She did great. I do not force her to do anything, nor push her harder than she is willing to go. It is a windy road that leads to the rockstore, but she did great. At Mullholland Hwy just north of Malibu canyon there was an accident as a squid had taken a corner too hot and high sided. They had traffic stopped, and that kept everyone going around the speed limit. Anyway, she didn't have any problems and rode like a champ. Her skills are ever increasing.

Yep, made it there and back, no problemo. I actually loved the twisties, except for one part where the wind decided to nearly blow me off the road. But, that'd what countersteering is for.

There were lots of squid-billies on the road, but they weren't too obnoxious, though a couple of times an impatient one would pass me doing about 70. Aside from that, it was pretty much easy ridin'.
EXCEPT FOR on the way back on the PCH, when one particularly-clueless SUV driver decided she would just randomly try to veer over into my lane and cut me off at a stoplight, but, I got around the situation quickly and kept on moving. Then I caught up to her on the left, and gave her an angry glare. Sure enough, she was talking on her cell phone. And there I was, without a raw egg to throw at her car. Oh well. I'll catch her next time.

All in all, the Rock Store was a blast! I think we're going to do this each week, on Sundays.
