Uh, now my passenger pegs need viagra
Just got my bike back tonight from the dealer after my 1k service. I really hope this is the only issue I have come out of this little tune up:
All of a sudden, my passenger pegs are like lubed or something. They stood up just fine before, nice and snug in their hardware. But now they are droopin' down on their own a few minutes into my ride and are loose.
I guess these guys tried to fix something that wasn't broken and lubed my pegs or something? Easily fixed, I guess. But weird and a lil bit of a pain in the **** considering I just paid 315 bucks for this 1k service.
(Note: I have a solo seat on my bike now, as yall can see in my siggy. But I have those pegs on there cuz I'm adding a passenger pillion next week.)

Most likely, your dealer lubed the pegs at the pivot. Just tighten the peg mounting bolts until there's just enough tension to keep the pegs up. If this doesn't work, replace the spring washers.

do you have bolts on yours? Mine came stock with pins held on by a "C" ring, nothing to tighten down. Just a spring washer. Mine always fell too. I just replaced my pegs with passenger boards recently after changing my pipes from stock to V&H Big Radius. Still held on with pins but the boards have a detente that a ball bearing and spring hold in the up position.

I just did my 20K service, which requires a LOT more stuff than a 1K - cost me the price of the oil and filter, spark plugs, brake fluid and brake pads - maybe $100, including fork oil, Amsoil for everything (including forks), K&N filter, HD spark plugs, and I know what was done and how and I don't have any unexpected problems. I got the brake pads for $10 a pair (EBC Kevlar) on Ebay.
A 1K service would have cost me about $65-70.
I wish I could find some guys who'd pay me $315 to do their 1K service for them.

I did not know harley went that way, must be a new thing, on my metrics they have used this type for years, What I have done is remove the peg and used a vice grip to squeeze the u slot so the peg just fits, friction. Or sometimes a thin washer will do the same.
