I saw hundreds of bikes without windshield on the way to Sturgis and back. Most were on trailers.

I live in Montana, and sometimes when I'm doing 90 into a 40mph headwind, my *** has a tendency to want to slide off the back of the bike. Windshield is nice. Keeps the wind in my face, but off my torso, and I'm not fighting the bike.

What's really sad is the sight of a touring bike on a trailer.

I have been riding for 44 years and I just bought my first bike with a windshield. Do I like it, your damn right I like it. It was nothing for me to go on a 500 - 600 mile trip with out one, now, I definitely will not hesitate. My tough guy days are over, I'll leave that one up to the ones that are under 60.

Geoff - I use to feel the same as you do about this subject - but now that I'm 66 years old & have arthritis attacking my spine, I'm just not able to make a 2,600 mile round trip anymore - I did do a 1,600 mile trip last summer but that’s about my limit - so don't judge every book by it's cover - Matter of fact - next year I might drive my BMW Z3 roadster to Sturgis - I'm not a noob - been riding over 50 years & have owned over 50 motorcycles - Hell I see guys trailering there bike to Street Vibration every year in Reno - all the way from Sacramento & that's only about 130 miles - Tom

This coming from someone who lives in LA...you don't know what cold is.

I ride with a QD shield when the temps drop into the 50s or so & all winter.

Anyone can say what they want, but I'd rather be more comfortable and enjoy the ride more rather than be uncomfortable from the cold air blasting me in the face & chest when it's 40 degrees. The shield allows me to ride more in colder temps. I would rather be able to ride in colder weather than to not ride at all because the cold air is too uncomfortable.

I'd rather ride without one too, and I do when it's warmer & most of the year, but why would I not put it on when it's cold?? It takes less than a minute, makes me more comfortable, and who gives a **** what my bike looks like with it on.

For those that say they won't use one because it takes away the wind...there's still plenty of wind moving around you, it just re-directs it away from blasting you directly in your chest & face.

I don't have anything to prove to anybody...I'll use my shield when it's cold & I don't give two ***** what anybody thinks about it.

Best accessory I have for my bike.
