wifes bike disaster
Wife finally picked up the bike of her dreams, so she thought. A 2001 Sportster 1200. She road a 750 shadow up until the purchase. Well she got the 1200 so she could keep up with us on the bigger bikes but laid it down in a corner. She is fine, bumped and ego bruised. Now she is not sure if she should ride or passenger. What should i do, try to get her up on it again or send off the bike. Have heard lots of pros on the Deluxe for a women. Should I try that option.

My wife started on a 883c in 2005,rode 2 seasons, but i never pressure her to keep up with me.in fact i had her leading, this way she didn't have to try and overdrive to keep up.now she has a deluxe and loves it.though the sporties are"harleys smaller bikes" they are one of the hardest to handle, you sit on the spoty and you sit in a deluxe making it ezier to handle.

just like kids w/bicycles - if ya fall off better get back on. on what is the question? remember sporty's have a high cog compared to their bigger brothers. any dyna should suffice, heck even a softail. but we all know dynas are better.[sm=icon_ladiesman.gif]

She needs to get back on that Sportster and ride. If she wants a Deluxe later, all well and good, but she needs to first get over any intimidation about that Sportster. We all fall and have to get back up.

First off, glad she's okay. I think that it would be hard to find anyone that's been riding for a while that hasn't been down. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start riding again.

Buying another bike won't be the cure for her laying down a bike. The only cure is to practice, practice and practice. Perhaps take the advanced rider course if she has already taken the basic.

Glad to hear the accident wasn't worse and that your wife turned out okay. Offer the encouragement and support. But beyond that, the final call is hers to make. Hopefully, she'll dust herself off and get right back on that horse. But if, by chance, she elects not to? Well, that's cool too. Good luck to both of you.
