I like having 3 lights going during the day-as opposed to the mag light on the front of my old Dynas. On my RK I couldn't tell much difference between the bright and dim w the passing lights on. The passing lights go out when you hit the brights. I commuted 80 miles at night through corn fields and you couldn't have enough light. I haven't ridden my Heritage at night much. Rick-e makes a great point about an experience I've never had.

I can see much more with my low beam and passing lights on than with my high beam and passing lights off (I gotta figure out how to do the mod to keep passing lights on).
The mothership sells the pigtail to keep passing lamps on

Dammit you mean I gotta step inside a dealer...I'm never gonna get any respect here. Thanks for the heads up. I'd seen it mentioned in a couple threads that people were doing it just never looked into how they made it happen.

The passing light on my bike lights up the road by 2X's IMO night.
Plus they make U day visibility a bunch better, Never read anything that side by how much though.
Only read that 3 lights vs 1 head light add a lot to the depth perception of being seen by oncoming traffic..

Mine stay on all the time!! I also have the pigtail to keep them on with the brights. 1 thing you can do is aim them to give you better visibility. Mine are kind of angled out and up just a tad. Works great and there is a big difference with them on.

I have them on my FB, and the daylight visibilty when all three lights is on is pretty good. At night the passing lamps give a broader beam of light. I am really happy with mine.

Passing lights perform two functions.
- They help you see things.
- They help others see you.

The same light may not perform both the best.

I run the phase 6 LED lights. They have a lot of bright white daytime glare. GREAT for being seen. Pretty good for helping you see.
The phase 7 LED or HD LED are in my opinion not quite as good in the daytime but much better for helping you see at night.

The other 'cheap' fix is to change your headlamp bulb for a 100/90w, sure does light the road up

I run the aux lights all the time and also added the pigtail to keep them on with the high beams. Also converted to LED for all and with proper aiming, light up the road well. I live on a 2 lane in the county and the LED's spot the green eyes earlier.
