Default Paint/Powder Coat/Anodize

Redoin' the bike this winter and my laced rims look like chit. Priced out some new rims and it's not gonna happen any time soon. Checked into the cost of relacing my rims...more expensive than buying new (WTH?). So I mentioned to a friend that I was thinking about just painting them black (HVLP not rattlecan) and he mentioned anodizing 'em. Then I ran across the powedercoating over chrome thread and thought...hmmmm

So now I'm not real sure which is the more practical way to go as far as cost, durability, and looks.
So far I haven't found anyone local that anodizes so that may make it even more impractical.

Any thoughts?

This is the best pic I've got of my wheels. Gloss black powder coat over chrome rims, black over bare aluminum hubs. PC is tough stuff, good for a bike that gets ridden. Paint wouldn't last long on wheels.

Your gonna have to look at industrial means for anodizing.

GREAT looking bike, really like the black wheels with chrome spokes. I have powdercoated all my previous bikes wheels and this is good advice, it holds up really well.
