Warm winter gloves Are leather gloves warmer?

Yes, leather is better. I once tried some waterproof snowboarder gaiuntlets and nearly froze my fingers off - at 70-80 MPH, they were colder than unlined leather. Anything is warm sitting still, but on the highway, only leather works.

I have a pair of deerskin gauntlets that are awesome, but when the temps start sliding into the 40's I go with the Gerbing T5. I had the G3 but returned them for the T5. I found the gauntlet too narrow on the G3 but they were a bit more flexible than the T5 which has a bit more insulation. I find the T5 heats more uniformly and fits over my jacket much better.
There are a ton of treads on this, but make sure any Gerbing glove you buy has the 90 degree angle connector. Those are the newer gloves and they perform better

This stuff is damn expensive though. Cripes, I've bought cars for less money than this!

I find, for me, that down to 45* the G3 is warm enough to wear without even having them turned on. Under 45* I turn them on and, so far, have been plenty warm in the mid 30's. I haven't had the chance to try them any colder.
