You can buy the HD one like I did - part # 021-0123 - think it was $ 45-50

or you can go to Pepboys like I did, buy the EXACT same one mfg'd by Deltran: Battery Tender Jr,part# 021-0123, for 1/2 price, and spend the diff on gas!

They are the EXACT same EVERYTHING. Both come with 2 leads -one you fix to the battery that has a plug, anotherthats "portable" that has spring clips.

Buy the Jr. from Motorcycle Matteries USA, an advertiser here on the forum. I got the charger, set of ring terminals and the clamp terminals plus a 25ft extension cord delivered to my house for $41.00. Give them a call and support one of our advertisers.

You have a Gel Mat battery from hd ? if you do why do you want a battery tender ? I just changed out last spring my Gel, I didn’t have too. Well maybe I would be going into my 6 (six) year with it, I notice a small voltage drop and since it’s was at the start of the season I got a new one, if I remember the paper work that came with it, it stated min amp charger was 3 amps, it said nothing about a battery tender at all, you realize that Gel mat batteries have a fantastic shelf life, dealers love them no putting in acid before the sale, and they stay charged for months and months?

I always took a fluke voltage reading before I put it away for the winter typical if I got a 12,84 at the end of nov and the beginning of march I get 12.79, why do I need a battery tender ? I have done this for 5 year + every year, before Gels batteries lasted me 2 years max, besides hd states min. charge rate on this battery is 3 amps, never once had to give it a charge, it’s a waste of money if your using Gel Mat batteries and the bonus ? no freakin drain tube !!!

“before i go to Sears, what amperage/voltage should i get? “

zero : - ) save your money for chrome

BTW my ride lives 25 miles west of Philly I get the same weather as you do, and the bike is not in a connecting garage, read un-heated.
