Watch bitch_n about dealers on here, one of these guys will give you the free enterprise, dealer is king, American flag wavin, what's wrong with YOU, that this happened, rap.

I like the write letters, our local paper has a lemme doit article where they solve your issue and then write about it in the paper. I don't need someone to do my fighting, but I love the free press about lousey service.

The customer should be king and these (few) dealers that su_k need to get over themselves and do the right thing or go sell used Dodge neons.

Just my 2 cents.

Well,

All I know is a friend of mine told me to always go to a dealership that is owned and run by a Democrat because "they care"........it doesn't matter if they really do or not because they say they do and that makes it legitimate.......and the thing they care most about is your money....see how easy it really is...............

These dealers are able conduct buisness like this because they are selling products that they have very little competition for. I get better service for my 5 year old Dodge truck than I do from the Harley Dealer. They seem incapable of fixing anything right the first time, and if you have a sportster like I do they treat you even worse. The Moco needs to improve the quaility of their dealers.

Respectfully, I wholeheartedly and concretely disgagree. Dealers (in my view) are able to conduct business in such a fashion as a direct resultof the consumer's inability to call said deficiencies in service to their attention. Consumers are often times reluctant to do anything surrounding the negative experiences they may encounter while at a dealership. They don't want to be regarded as being a pain in the ***, perhaps feel as though it's not worth the time and effort to say/do anything, or feel as though they don't really have a choice in the matter. As a result, most take **** and ask for seconds. Those who don't more than likely just go elsewhere leaving said shitty service to the next guy who happens along.

Let's face it, folks - these bikes aren't cheap. In fact, there's nothing about 'Harley' that's cheap/inexpensive. It's time the HD rider grabbed hold of his ***** (excuse me, ladies) and took a stand in those instances whereby they have been treated like **** by their local dealers. It is ONLY UNTIL THEN that there will be any hope of things changing. Collectively, if enough people stood up and said 'enough's enough', you just might be surprised at the changes one might see. One guy pissin' in the wind ain't gonna' cut it. But you get 1,000 guys pissin' in the wind and sooner or later, somebody's gonna' have to build a boat! Power in numbers, people. Power in numbers. Your local dealer is NOT the only show in town. As a consumer, you will ALWAYS have a choice and should never be made to feel as though you don't. You do!

In retrospect, it is the HD consumer/rider who is - in large measure - responsible for the bullshit service they are receiving by their own dealers. It is their inability to do **** that has - in effect - created this monster! Don't like what's going on at your dealer? Get up off yourasses and do something about it as opposed to simply turning a blind eye on the deal.

a) Find out who the owner(s)/principal(s) are, contact them, advise them of your situation, and suggest that you'd like to meet them in person in order to go over your concerns in greater detail.

I agree that you should try this first just to make sure the Owner is aware. Often times crappy managers cover things up and the Owner never realizes what is going on. I have employees that constantly do dumb sh*t that aggravates customers but unless someone tells me I never know.

Given that, if the Owner doesn't give you any satisfaction then f'em.

Some dealers are just f'd up. Nice thing about Dallas is any of them that **** me off is easily replaced. But HD NT, Longhorn, and Eagle are all great in the area. HD Dallas is OK for service, but love to mark up the prices over MSRP.

Have you bought a bike from any of these? I will be looking to buy in a little less than a year and I have been to most of these. HD NT seems to be pretty high pressure and I don't think they ever sold a stock bike. They sell for MSRP but then it is marked up with a bunch of options that I don't know if they are pricing fair. HD Dallas seems much more low key but I have never got to the haggling point yet with them...... Any experience you can share would be great.

I agree totally with TXHarleyguy. We as consumers need to follow up on poor service. If you can't get an issue resolved with the dealership write a letter to Harley, sending a copy to the BBB and the dealership. If I get screwed by a dealership, whether in the parts, accessories or repair departments, I'm the kind of guy who will spend a grand to get a ten buck issue resolved. When I get through with the dealership they will:
1. resolve my issue.
2. apologize for screwing with me
3. never screw me again, if I ever go back.
4. wish they never heard of me.
Stand up for your rights sucker. Do NOT let the dealership off the line without resolving your problem to YOUR satisfaction. Make waves, make noise, do anything you can to make them miserable and sorry for screwing with you. If only more of us loyal HD owners would stand up for ourselves those crappy dealers would have no choice but to turn the attitudes around.

Just my opinon guys...
