Default earplugs anyone?

Today was my first ride over 100 miles on the new RKC. I think the Thunderheader pipe as much as I love it, may cause deafness without proper protection. I wear a full face helmet and my ears were still ringing 20 minutes after I got home. I am gonna get some ear plugs for sure. Wanted tolisten to my Ipod but figure that would be even worse as I would have to crank it up real loud to hear it over the Thunderheader!!!!!!

Anyone else wear the ear plugs??

Sometimes I wear earplugs, but for a different reason. If it is colder outside and I am planning on riding on the highway I use them. I wear a half helmet and if it is cold the wind makes my ears ache.

Always on a longer ride

If you get tinitis (permanent ringing in your ears) you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

Have some ear plugs made with in built speakers so that you can listen to your i-pod COMFORTABLY whilst riding!!

I don't find my Thunderheader as much as problem as the wind rushing by at 80mph! Unless you weren't in front, and the guy in front of you had a T-header! Maybe it's different with a full face helmet too though.

If it's a longer ride, I'll put a pair of plugs in. The foam ones work real well (better than the plastic ones I bought for shooting!), and are cheap to boot!

Let's see: Loud Pipes saves lives but wearing earplugs to keep from going deaf will probably end up killing you because you have cut down on one of your important senses.

Makes sense to me!!

I wear earplugs on longer trips, b/c it is the wind noise that is most damaging.

Near the end of my running straight pipes,I started wearing plugs, and was pleasantly surprized to find that it sounded pretty good. Now have more reasonable music spewing out the back

I either wear noise cancelling ear buds (when I am listening to the MP3 player) or ear plugs. Its not the pipes that bother me, its the wind.
