Default 2013 touring model shortage?

I had the day off today so figured I would swing by my local dealer to look at a new street glide. To my surprise they had no touring models at all. They had everything else including a slim, deluxe, sportster and a streetbob all in the hard candy colors. As I was talking to my salesman he just said they are having a hard time getting any baggers in for some reason. Pretty much whatever they do get in are already pre-sold. I did swing by another dealer that's about 30 miles away from me knowing they had a yellow street glide there since early September. Only problem with that one is they added almost $4000 in extras pushing the price to over $25k. So is it just around here that there's a shortage or is it like that all over? My salesman did mention he thinks it's going to go back to the old days where you pretty much have to order your bike or look to see what they have coming in and drop a deposit on the one you want. Then you just have to sit back and wait.

Plenty of 2013 touring bikes in the Chicago and Milwaukee area.

Nah... don't see it. There are 7 dealerships in the valley here and all of them have plenty of touring scoots. Think your dealer is hoping for those days.

Dealer was/is defiantly hopeful of the old days but reality is the economy sucks.

I travel all over the Midwest and often stop in the local HD dealership when I'm out and about. I see no shortage of touring bikes, especially SGs.

Those were the days, but doubt they will return. No shortage here, only that of the 110 anniversary bikes

Yeah I was kinda surprised that he said they're having a hard time getting them in stock. They're not a big dealer but they sell a ton of bikes. I'm off again today so might swing by the casino then shoot down to battlefield hd in Gettysburg to see what they have. I'm torn between the ember red and the yellow street glide. I've seen the yellow in person but would like to see it outside in the sun. I had a ember red one as a loaner over the summer and really liked it, plus got a few compliments on the color.

You're in PA, just wait till January to start shopping. Anything you buy now will only sit in the garage till spring anyways. The dealer will be willing to deal then and you'll get a better deal.
