Default Assless chaps recommendations

I know they're just chaps. But find great joy in acting immature at my age.

Looking at recommendations for some quality chaps at a decent price. I'm not against forkin out money for something that's going to last. But don't want to over pay for crap.

Insulated jeans work just as well. Leather up has some.

I recommend both insulated jeans from Farm and Fleet/ Farmking type store. I also have chaps from Leatherup both work well. Order larger enough for long term use.

Yeah, that's hilarious...

IMO, most chaps are pretty much the same. Unless you want HD stamped on them, you don't need to spend a lot to get the good quality. I got mine at a local metric dealer, rather than online, so I could try them on.

BTW, I disagree about the insulated jeans working just as well. NOTHING beats the wind protection of leather.

Here we go again. Chaps are easier to take on and off than insulated jeans. I don't walk around in chaps, except quick run into grocery store etc.

And I would rather have them on if I ever slide. I have some elkskin chaps, custom-made. I bought them used from a guy the same size as me. He quit riding after he got hit by a truck that turned left in front of him.

There's a small hole in the collar where he hit the mirror on the truck but the chaps look perfect.

I got a great deal on some thick leather chaps from SportsmansGuide.com for less than $100.

I also got a good deal on some black insulated bibs there. for $40

Chaps have saved me from some nasty burns and road rash quite a few times .

great for cold protection.

I am close to a quarter million miles riding on Harleys and have wore out a few pairs or had them damaged in acidents .
I don't wear them all the time but when conditions warrent .....great safety gear.

I Don't give a **** what the HOMOphobic in the closet fashion police think or say.

I'm in Colorado ... 40 degree ride to work. 75 degrees at lunch and the ride home. Beautiful ride a couple weekend ago up in the mountains ... got caught in 2 quick rain showers. Sure would have been nice to have some leather on the legs.

Seriously thinking about adding to my village people gear myself ... lol

Depends on how often you want to wear them and for what purpose.
I have some "Hot leather" brand chaps. Not thick, not the best quality, not expensive (about $50).
They work fine for keeping my legs warm on my 40 mile commute. I only wear them when it's below 40 degrees or so. I've had them for quite a few years (maybe 10) and don't notice any wear at all. All the snaps and zippers still work.
