Default Discovered a new riding danger yesterday

Went on about a 270 mile group ride yesterday, through the Daniel Boone National Forest. At one point we were going down a mountain through some curves when I saw the woman in front of me look down at something on the road a swerve. As I got closer I saw it was a 2-3 foot snake, coiled to strike, with his head held about 6-7 inches from the road. Later the guy behind me said he was striking at each bike as it went by. Never seen that before. Far as I know, we all missed him - not sure what kind it was, but the area has copperheads and rattlesnakes, among others.

As if dogs chasing cars wasn't bad enough, now snakes chasing motorcycles.

Damn imagine getting bitten by a snake while on your bike. That would be bad news.

Ran over a snake on Deal's Gap while cranked way over on a sport bike. Never felt it.

So you are saying that real snakes have less of an effect on handeling than tar snakes?
