I'm guessing in the history of the World, no one has ever been bitten by a snake while zipping down the road on a Harley, so i would try to find something else to worry about, like texting women and teenage drivers....

Don't forget about the walnuts (big green tennis ball things) and wet leaves. Both are falling in the roadway this time of year.

Never would have occurred to me to worry about a snake striking at me while riding. Like was mentioned in an earlier post, I'd be more worried about rounding a corner to find a python or something big enough to stretch across the entire width of the road. This is FL after all.

i seen a small ratttler in the road one night (under 2ft) and i went back and ran it down. Wont lie i had my boots in the air.

that one the op saw might have been wounded and couldnt move anymore...the timing would be off if it went for a foot but if it went for the front tire it might hit a foot....im not real worried about it either way.

One afternoon, while riding to the beach, I saw a car alongside the road and 2 people standing behind the car, staring at something in the road. Getting closer, I see a snake coiled up in my lane. Timber rattlesnake. My feet went to the handlebars as I passed by.

Later that day, on my way home, there was a grease spot in the road where the snake had been.

Snake ended up having a very bad day.

A guy I used to ride with creamed a rattlesnake right in front of me on a canyon ride. Funny thing is we all called him "Gator" because when he lived in Florida he ran over and killed an alligator on his dyna on accident as well. The guy was a wildlife magnet.

Not so fast 2009Bobber. While not common we have them (poisonous snakes ) here in New England as well . Besides the Copperhead , the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake lives around here.

Hey Twizted, only snake I've ever seen was coming into Niles. He was 5'+ crossing 84. He was cruising and traffic was maneuvering around him. I was fine to just let him go on his way, lol
