Default Cams

I know there have been quite a few subjects on this but I've been up all night and too tired to do any searches...
Anyways, running a stock 88, V & H 2 into 2, SE air kit. Gonna have it tuned once the cams are changed. What would be a decent cam? I am leaning towards something to give me a little extra kick at low to mid range. I'm not a power freak so don't want to do a 95" build right now.
Thanks for the help!

I wanted low end torque and I had SE255's installed and I'm very happy with the results. Asking for cam advice is kinda like asking which brand truck is better. Everyone will tell you that what they have is the best.

Good luck.

I just changed out my S&S 510G cams for the Woods cams. The S&S sure woke my old 88 up and i could roll on the throttle in 5th @ 45 and hit 70 in a heart beat 2-up. I'm 243 & the wife 185 so we were impressed with the torque.

I'm running Andrews 26a with a Power Commander. I'm happy with the setup now. But still think about going up to a 95 and maybe some head work.

Andrews 21....tons of low end and mid range and I get 43 to 47mpg. The Andrews 21 is about the best cam for a moter that's mostly stock. My #2 pick would be Andrews 26

Also running a PC III.... The 95 set up would be the way to go, no doubt.
Thanks for the ideas.....

The 21 is the best for a bone stock 88". The 26 would be the second choice and could also work with a mild 95" build. Any of the others will be lacking in low end. Even one of the builders on here said that a 21 will walk away from a 26 with a stock engine. If you have any thoughts of headwork or big bore though, I would look at the 26.

Problem is there are so many bolt in cams that will put a smile on Ur face..

U really need to put in more info about how U ride and where, what rpms do U uaually ride at....

U'll get a lot of others that will say I love what my cam they have in there bike in here,,, but to get one that truly meets Ur needs are.

U didn't say what V&H 2-2 pipes U have, Reckon they are BSR's with the pic
After looking at sheets the BR's 2-2 or BSS'er seems to make the best over-all in the V&H's 2-2 pipes's

Do U ride mostly Solo????
Do u mostly ride in town or Hiway.???

Right now after I've studied bolt in cams for 5yrs,,, IMHO,, if I was today going to put in new cams.....

I'd for sure look at the "NEW" Bob Woods 222's.... I just looked at there spec's last week for the first time....

IMO they have great timing events for bolt in cams for an other wise stock motor, and with the 34* IC and overlap they will make good power above 2k rpms and still produce up till the lines cross at 5200 rpms all the while the CCP is easy on the starter and will not be a PINGER problem...

Woods cams has always be the top choice cams,, Now this new 222 fills in the bolt in cam choice perfect..

Wish I had the option of this cam 4 yrs ago....
