I've finally accepted the fact that I need hearing aids. My question is for anyone that already has them, can you wear them with a 3/4 or full helmet? Are there feedback problems? Or do you just take them out while riding? Also, what kind do you have? Thanks for any help. The Audiologist isn't much help because they don't ride.

 

My Dad has them and wears them under his full face Shoie helmet. He does not have wind noise of feedback issues wih them.He does not wear a 3/4 or 1/2 helmet so I can't comment on that.

 

My wife rides with them and uses both 3/4 and full. She does use a scarf or head band to secure them in place while putting on and taking off the helmet. She doesn't have any feedback problems once the helmet is in place.

 

What kind does she have? Are they completely in the ear or the kind that are outside the ear?

 

I wear an "in ear" hearing aid with a full face helmet. On longer rides or freeway rides, I don't wear it. Just too loud. Other than that, no problems with the full face helmet....I don't ride without a helmet, but if I did, I would NOT wear a hearing aid for fear of it blowing out...

 

I wear in the ear but not on the bike. Surprisingly the half helmet is quieter than the full due to my staggered pipes ending at the passenger seat and the helmet acts like a funnel for the sound. I'm getting new in the ear (on order) any day now and will make the old ones into ear plugs. Even with the quiet baffles (5-6 db noise reduction) I'm blowing out my ears with those pipes.

Have a 3/4 helmet, and behind the ear ha. Don't like to wear when riding. Mostly can't get to it to adjust well enough with gloves on or other wise for that matter,and don't want to drop it onto the pavement!

Thing cost to much.

Repairs on them are just about is much as taking the bike to the dealer!

 

I was thinking of getting the "CIC" that are completely in the ear canal. I don't know the advantages or disadvantages of each type.Need "Biker" opinions.Thanks.[8D]
