@ss hats at work started that at work for a while, its worn out now! Glad it did, they looked so damn stupid and never even knew it!

I am hearing challenged, I will admit it.

I do not have an aid, but will eventually get one.

My worst hearing experience ever was on the ride home from the Harley 100th Anniversary in Milwaukee, in 2003. I left the Chicago area Monday morning and 10 minutes into the 10 hour ride it started to rain and did so constantly till I arrived home.

I had my Harley brand rainsuit and decided to put up the hood under my half hemet to keep the rain out of my back. By the time I hit the PA border and stopped to get a bite to eat, I found that I could not hear a thing anyone said. Everything sounded distorted and muffled. I could not even hear my self talk.

Evidently the hood on the rainsuit turned into a soundamplifier and blasted my eardrums with bike and wind and road noise. It took four days for my hearing to return to normal. It scared the heck out of me.

From that point on, on any long ride, I use ear plugs to cut all the noise blasting by. I can now hear normally at stops and ride end.

 

Outside the ear. Her hearing loss is to great for in the ear aids.

i wore the in the canal aids... without a helmet and no problem....now i wear the aids that are in the ear....and have never had one move on me...If they are fitted properly you wont have a problem...I can adjust mind to cut out the background noise,which i do when im riding.. not everyone can wear the in the ear one, your specialist andhearing test decides which type you can wear and benefit from. i also use a cell phone with mine, another option, more money..lol...I agree good topic that noones seems to like to talk about.....Ive wore hearing aids for about 15 yrs..if you would like more info feel free to pm...cause i cant hear ya..[8D]...

 

I have in the ear aids. Have no problem with my full helmet. If I were to ever not wear a helmet I would take them out for fear of losing one and wind noise in my car is loud enough, it would be worse on my ride. I have Siemens brand and in the ear. I suggest you take your helmet in to Audiologist and see if you can try before you buy or full refund if there is a problem with feedback.
