I had 880'son my Suzi LC1500 I thought they were great as did everyone else I talked to. Then people started bagging on them because they are nylon cord and thought they were slick on wet surface...I never experienced it but what do you guys think?

The price was $265 for the tires. I could order online and save, but they would charge more to put em on at the shop then. Now I have to figure out what todo with the d404 I have ordered online.
I think you did the right thing. The local shop will also stand behind what they sold. As to the D404, perhaps you can return it? Otherwise someone here or on the other HD boards will want it.

Ride safe.

As for the chicken strips, they will be gone tomorrow. At least as much as I can get off before the floorboards scrape...

sounds like bs to me. i doubt they are even right about the cords being nylon, but even if so, having ridden many thousands of miles on metsler 880 and the me88, i have found them to be great.

edit: just checked the metzler website. this is what it said:
"Innovative belt structure, with a single ply of steel bandinas wrapped at 0° around a radial carcass. Patented technology by Metzeler for both front and rear high performance tires. Steel features a higher stiffness than textile and this allows reducing the weight of the tire. Steel radial belt reduces the dynamic deformation of the tire under centrifugal forces giving the tire an excellent high-speed stability. Thanks to the more uniform heat distribution, mileage is increased and wear characteristics are more uniform.
Range : ME Z Slick, ME Z Rain, Rennsport RS, Rennsport, Sportec M-1, ME Z3, ME Z1, Roadtec Z6, ME Z4, ME Z2, ME 880, MCE Karoo, Enduro 4"

they do have higher performance tires that use nylon or carbon fiber, but they arent the 880.
