Problem with Indy shop Dales M/C Island Lake Il

You really should go in and level with the guy...have him show you what's going on. If you show up and he's still got parts of your motor scattered around on the floor, you'll know he's full of it. If he shows you what's going on, you can feel a little better that he's trying to make it right. It could be a complicated problem or something he's never seen before (it does happen, even to the best in their fields). Having him show you will likely set your mind at ease.

Heard so many of like horror stories over the years I am surprised there weren't any murders involved. If you have any mechanical ability at all learn to do it yourself. I have and do. You can ***** it up a couple of times and still be way money ahead and get it done lots sooner.
He's having top and bottom done and you are saying he can ***** it up a couple times and still be time and money ahead? You may be learning to do it yourself, but you haven't learned enough yet if you are giving lousy advice like that. Screw up rebuilding both ends on your own bike a couple of times and then come back and tell us how much time and money you're ahead on that job when you get it running again. Start with the bottom and screw that up a time or two.

My Indy that did my work this spring took 6 weeks before it was finished.
In their defense they are crazy busy and do really good work. In reality my bike only took 2 days to do but there was 15 bikes ahead of mine.
I couldn't be happier with the service and quality of the work, but it took a long time.
I would refer anyone I know to the shop that did my bike. And they stand behind their workmanship.
Quality takes time. And good indies are busy be ause they are good.
Op. I hope everything works out for you.

Dale came through!!!!!!
The saga is over!!!! Motor is back home and seems to be doing well. Spent some time in the garage today, screw you rain.... Cone was a little loose, reset the pushrods, advanced the timing a hair and it seems to do well. Thanks for everyone's input on the situation, and if you take in a motor, do it off season......and now for some shovel ****
