I guess they didn't teach comprehension in the one-room schoolhouse you flunked out of? I never said that I like the way things are today. I just stated how it is. You're obviously stuck in the past and don't have the mental acuity to understand and accept the way things are today. That doesn't bode well for you. It's a good thing that you're too old to try and kick anyone's ***, because you'd surely end up in jail or sued for everything you have.
If some jerk's post on an internet forum got you worked up enough to need a drink to calm down, then you need some serious help there, dick.
BTW, Edgar Winter called. He wants his hair back!

First of all, I think there's more of a chance you attended a 1 room schoolhouse in PA than I would've in NYC. Second--stuck in the past? No I'm very MUCH in the present. I just happen to like the styles, music, bikes, attitudes etc. from back in the day than today. I also liked people better back in the day, when a man's word meant something & people were decent to one another. Maybe I should get a crewcut so I can look like every other guy out there nowadays, huh? (My guess is you have a crewcut, like everyone else!) I've never been one to follow trends, which is why I don't ride ANOTHER BLACK STREETGLIDE like everyone else does around here. I do what I like & look the way I like--something most people don't have the SACK to do nowadays. I say what I want to whomever I want. Sometimes it gets me in trouble, ESPECIALLY with women. AND, yea; I bitch about stuff, like the way things are today, because I would not want anyone to think I was satisfied with them. I do something about it. I look the way I want, I play ONLY old school music in my house & vehicles, I ride what I like, without putting a 21" wheel on an FL front end just 'cause it's "trendy". And if I had kids, you can bet they'ld have REAL names, not the goofy ones George Carlin rails about! If I am stuck in the past, I am proud to be there. And I don't give a filled colostomy bag what anyone else thinks. Never cared much for "trends" anyway.
You ARE right about one thing--I don't try to kick anyone's *** anymore, not because I can't, because I have NEVER lost a fight. It was different back in the day when you could duke someone out without fear of reprisal, except maybe in the form of another fight. I have a friend who had a guy harassing his wife. He belted the guy right in the chops. ONE LOUSY PUNCH; that's it! And he wound up losing his business, house, car,Ultra, and they STILL want more from him. All because of ONE STINKIN' PUNCH! So, in that respect, I am definitely living in the present. Besides; everyone carrys nowadays anyway. Doesn't mean I won't defend myself, but I definitely won't start it.
BTW Every single biker called--they want their Black StreetGlide back!

Nothing wrong with " Back in the day " .... I and many people i suspect on here have these years to compare against the present .... and if what is happening now is " the way things are and just the way it is " i tell ya the future ain't nothin to get excited about .... And as for old! it's a bar we all pull a stool up in one day and exchange stories how things were " In the day " ....

Most of the young crispies show me respect but I still worry about them stealin' my scoot coz I didn't know the Black paint scheme was so popular with the new breed. I just always though it was easier to clean...shows what I know, nuttin' bout NOTHIN' NEW.

The reason why nostalgia is so popular nowadays...look at the Springer, Heritage,re-issue guitars, old school lookin' stuff...is because it harkens back to a time when things on the whole were better. Why do you think my original '72 Stratocaster is worth 20 times what it cost brand new in '72? Cause people are willing to pay for "the way it was back then" And I agree with Skull...if this is the way things are supposed to be, there is absolutely NUTHIN' to get excited about for the future. I feel sorry for today's kids--they have absolutely NUTHIN' to look forward to. Technology? BFD! Who cares if you can call someone by saying their name into a phone...No one needs that crap. No one can tell me people on the whole were not happier back in the day. Happiness came naturally; today you gotta FIND things to make you happy, and even then...you gotta worry about some stupid texting douchebag taking you out, you gotta worry if the hot babe you picked up & doinked last night is gonna give you something that will kill you or make your clam fall off!
Why do you think you really take notice when you see a cherry '68 Camaro, a lot more so than when you see a new Camry? Compared to the Camry, the '68 is a real POS. But we feel good when we see those old cars because they take us back to a day when "things" were better, and we were happier. Yes; you can be happy nowadays, but it takes increasingly more effort to find it & hold on to it...it doesn't come naturally like it did "back in the day". Then you reach an age where it isn't worth trying to even find happiness anymore. I think God does that purposely so that when it's time for you to croak, you don't really mind going.
So yes; I will always look like a reject from a David Cassidy lookalike contest, I play only old school music, my guitars are vintage original, my cell doesn't even have a camera,my house is furnished in 50's & 60's retro, (will be doing a thread soon showing my retro style furnished home) and my FL bikes will always (God help me) sport 16" front wheels. It's just the way I like to roll. Old skool is the ONLY skool! Yea; there are a couple good things about the present...Harleys are more reliable, don't leak oil, and remember what it was like trying to find a pay phone in the rain or cold that WORKED? AND...today we got VIAGRA! But...everything else can go to hell. Stuck in the past? Maybe. And I couldn't be happier for it!

I agree Dickey.....I'm so glad I was a teenager in the 60's.
IMO the BEST era to be a teenager.
Guess what - we all survived with no cell phones, no Play Stations, no internet or cable TV. You got po'd at another kid, punched him in the mouth and were buddies again the next day.
I remember getting a woody because I put a rear speaker, fader switch and a reverb unit in my car that had an AM only radio. I bet nobody under 55 even knows what a reverb unit is.
I'm gonna take my Schwinn Stingray with the banana seat and ape bars and go home now. And yes, that's my '67 Camaro Convert. in my avatar!

I still don't get why another woman didn't handle that issue with the drunk chick on his scoot?
That was one of the main reasons the old dudes usta let us hang around: to take care of the stupid chit for them.
