+1 on that. Been doing that for years now. I'm cool with sensors when they are adjusted and work correctly, but don't believe that bikers should be expected to wait indefinetly when they're not. If sensors are in place, they should work for ALL motor vehicles deemed legal to ride on public roads.

The correct way to make sure the magnetic sensor has a shot a knowing you're there is to place your bike directly over the left or right edge of the sensor, with your front tire just past the front corner of the sensor. That puts your engine and frame right over the corner (i.e. large amounts of metal which effect the magnetic field)
Right!

I belive California law says that you have to wait 3 cycles (maybe 2) and then you can proceed when safe. You know how long it takes to cycle 3 times when there are no cars around on either side to trip a sensor? Neither do I.

I don't have that kind of patience, so I just look both ways and bye, bye.
This is a new law in Georgia. I have no idea what the cycle length is before I can legally run it.

HA! I will wait 1 cycle and then I'm gone.

Nebraska doesn't have the law stating it's OK to run it--yet. I wrote my local state congressman and he's looking into writing one. I'm such a boy scout.

I don't know what the local law is regarding this, but can anyone tell me if there is a good way to locate these sensors you're talking about. I feel dumb, I've never seen or heard of this kind of thing here. We have cameras on top of the lights but no roadside sensors that I know about.

They look like this where I'm from. Maybe NV doesn't use them.

I have an intersection just out of my neighborhood where the left turn signal won't trip, even for my cage. I run that sucker all the time. Actually, it's legal here if the light doesn't trip. Well, probably not for cars, but what the heck.
