Default Kuryakyn Grantour bag faulty zippers

I thought I was getting top of the line luggage, but within a year two of the main zippers kept separating. So frustrated. Venting... thanks.

Same thing happened to mine, only used them a couple of times when the zippers started going to pot.

Cheers,

Have you contacted Kuryakyn about it?

Default Kuryakyn Bags Faulty Zippers

On the Grantour bag the flap on top wouldn't stay zipped and started flapping in the wind and hitting me on the back, I pulled over and took out a box cutter, cut it off and threw it down a ravine. I figured Kuryakyn wouldn't honor and warranty they had. Now the main compartment zipper is starting to go....

Also there are a few other posts about Kuryakyn zippers and the company is difficult to work with.

And this is all earth shattering news? For years this site has been an avenue of remorse against Kury.

My experience with my Grantour has been mostly good. I did break one of the plastic latches when tightening up a strap on my rack. I called and they sent a complete strap with latches ($16.00). The one they sent me had a heavier duty latch than the one I broke. That's fine except that it only plugs into it's mating side and none of the other "stock" ones. As far as the zippers, mine are still ok (2 years). I'm not saying this is what you're doing but... if anyone of you is like me, I tend to overstuff the compartments. Those plastic zippers will not tolerate too much of that sort of thing and should be much better quality for the price of the bag. I have a closet full of old cheap luggage with broken plastic zippers.

I almost went with that bag, but went with a Saddleman bag. So far so good.
Kinda neat all the various compartments to stash stuff where you can get right to it, and a big zip to get to the main compartment. Priced about the same as the Kury.

Well crap, I just bought a ultra tour bag (not pictured) earlier this summer. So far so good, all though I was curious how well the zippers would hold up, they don't look to heavy duty. But like I said so far so good. I paid around $140 so I didn't feel the price was too bad. I plan to eventually replace it with a leather pros trunk regardless though. It does hold a lot and the wife, who talked me into buying the bag, loves it.
