Oh boy, now I am upset. I am definetely fighting this ticket. The sucky part is that I have to post the $117 in order to fight the ticket. I thought it was going to be a $10 thing. I forgot that I live in the peoples republic of Kalifornia. I wasn't speeding, didn't get in a wreck, didn't harm anyone else or myself. WTF? I am really upset. Any Los Angeles Leo's in here or does anyone know any Los Angeles Leo's who might help me out? Just a shot in the dark, because this is freakin bs. Now I have to find out if 27803 or the CA vehicle code is a moving violation...off to google...

 

That sucks.Here you don't have to post to fight so the theory goes that if everyone fights it all the LEO's would be off the street.Too bad you didn't get the 50,000th post .You'd be $25 closer.

 

Don't have to wear a noddle bucket here in Utah, so no worrys about fines, just brain damage...

 

Here in Ohio they are only required for the first year of your licsence.

 

Is this the non-DOT helmet you recently stuck a DOT sticker on? Not trying to be a prude or anything here, but sounds like you just got busted plain and simple. Not sure why you'd fight it honestly, you are guilty as charged aren't you?

Not picking on you man, I understand why you're upset. I've gotten some speeding tickets I thought were a little unfair (not very fast I mean), but heck I was speeding, so I paid them. This isn't like the ol' pipes are too loud or some other subjective thing, it's an open and shut deal.

Ditto. You KNEW the law when u put the non DOT helmet on your head. And SINCE then you have bragged on the internet, that you now have a Counterfeit DOT sticker on that same helmet. Maybe if ya lose some cash, you will learn !!

I have said before, that I disagree with helmet laws. It should be the ADULT rider's choice. But, if you live in a State that requires a DOT helmet, and you get busted without one.....MAN-UP. Take responsibility for YOUR Eff-Up, and PAY THE FINE. Don't waste the Officer's time and don't waste the COURTS time because you didn't think it as an important enough law for you to follow.

 

Fight for the freedom to have a choice.

 

Dumbass laws for a dumbass cause. No one should be protected from their own stupidity. But thanks to the creeping socialism and worthless people, more and more of these will show up.

TX still has some stupidity, but at least we have the ability to choose to wear a helmet or not.

 

Pay the fine and then order the DOT helmet from ACC.
