Default Tank emblem removal

Hey guys, any idea how easy it is to remove a chromed tank emblem without screwing up the paint finish? Any particular technique?

Dental floss or fishing line, clean the residue with goof off and then wax

^^^^ This. Its easy to do if you heat up the emblem first with a heat gun or hair dryer. If you dont have either of those then you can leave your bike in the sun for a bit then give it a go.

Dremel tool and painters tape, go very slow. jk

Dental floss after leaving the bike in the sun. If you have a denim paint job, it will leave a shadow.

Agreed on the floss or fishing line. I'd use "Goo Gone" vs. "Goof Off" to be safe. Even the Goof Off website says to use their heavy duty product vs. their professional product on painted surfaces, so that tells me caution needs to be exercised on your tank's paint.

Heated with a hair dryer then peel off slowly while keeping the hair dryer on the emblem.

use fishing line get heavy duty. i took street glide emblems off my bike and came off easy.and just peeled the remaining tape off. i put sreamin eagle emblems like the look.

I'd use lighter fluid over goof off or goo be gone. I've even used it on a lacquer finished guitar to remove adhesive from a pick guard.
