I am jsut about ready to order these, but does it make a difference if I have the siren or the siren 2. Lets rephrase that: Does it matter if I have the smart siren or the smart siren 2 with the pagers. If there is a difference what is it? Thanks for the info...

 

the smart siren is just that a siren. The smart siren 2 has the attenna for the pager. I just picked up my new pager last nite and they box says it has a 1/2 mile range. Should work good with the bike parked 30 feet from my bedroom window.

 

Yeah the difference in the unit is about $5. However if you eventually want a pager, its a different matter.

SS2 $95

pager for SS ~ $165 (might be more, I'd have to look it up)
pager for SS2 ~$60

I wasn't even told about the difference when I brought my siren unit. Bunch of (insert expletive here). Another reason I'll never shop at Harley of Baton Rouge/Hammond ever again. To me thats the difference between being able to afford the darn pager and not

 

That's Funny! I just bought the SIREN II Yesterday!
I triggered the siren, and all the neighborhood Dogs went BALLISTIC!! It's Loud but not so Loud, But it's in the "scratching the chalkboard" High-Pitcharea[&:]

My opinion

I Love it!

 

Gotthe SS2 and pager and they work great. You need the SS2 if you want to use a pager.

 

Installed the SS 2 today. The pager is on order, they did not have one in stock. I like the SS 2 just for the reason of the pager.
