Default Local HOG chapters

Do you belong to more than one local chapter? What do you do to join the local chapter(s)? What are the advantages of joining local chapter(s)?

I got a free membership when I got my new motorcycle a few weeks ago. I also wonder what they do at the meetings. I will probably attend one to find out. I am new to motorcycling and have only been riding since the spring so I will likely be the odd man out. I had asked a similar question a while ago and some folks said I should go to at least one meeting to check it out.

I do get a discount card for merchandise if I attend a meeting, so I want to attend at least one. If it is something over my head or everyone looks like the serious hardcore type and looks like they want to kick my a&& or something, I can just walk out I guess.

I just joined my local about a week ago. I just went to their website and joined through it. They sponsor alot of rides through-out the season. They also run the local HD dealership events too. They also seem to like to eat alot too, as all the rides end up at great eateries lol. A lot of dealers give HOG discounts. Its a good time with like-minded people.

I was a HOG member for quite a while. There are a lot of nice folks in our local HOG chapter but I don't do group rides much so I'm not a member anymore.

I belong to one and have met some nice folks but like any another group you will have your douche bags. If this chapter folds I doubt if I would look for another. As far as discounts at the sponsoring dealer I guess I belong to the wrong chapter cuz ain't no discount on anything. Yet they are always after you to volunteer to help out at open house and other events. But I have made some riding friends over the years by being a member so for me it ain't all bad.
