My youngest always wanted to ride on the bike with me, and over the years we took several long trips. Now he has his own bike. Encourage her and some day she will be a valued riding partner.

 

Watch out though. I used to take my daughter for rides all the time. She married a biker. Good kid. President of the company he works for.

 

Hell, my daughter is 25 and still asks to go riding at least once a week.

 

I always have mixed feelings about encouraging them to ride. Part of me is glad that they enjoy something I have been doing all my life but part of me knows the risk. My father actually still tells me he regrets getting me my first motorcycle then he says he wishes he still rode. I enjoy my rides with the kids then and now. I look forward to the rides with my grandkids in the future hopefully. I hope I pass on this knowledge.

 

As much as possible for me and my 7 year old!!! Rides to work with me almost everyday and i drop him off at summer camp. Yes the clothing he is wearing is due to military regs, but i would have it no other way!!!! Safety first when he is involved, no ifs, ands, or buts!!!! Enjoy your time together hope they talk about it for years!!!!

 

My 14 year old granddaughter loves riding while listening to Papa's old rock and roll.
(to be fair, I plugged in her ipod and we listened to Justin Beiber).
