Question It's raining, it's pouring

the old man.. oops.. Rain suits? Is there such a thing as rain suit AND reasonably priced? Or is that an oxymoron or even a plain old moron? I just can't spend $1k on an Aerostitch suit but want something better than Hanes. So, experienced folks, what to look for and any online sources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

I have a Spada brand rainsuit that cost me £50. It keeps out the wind and the rain effecitively and makes me look like a cut-price superhero (a lamehero?)

I was gonna say no until I saw your price point of $1000....

Gotta say I never even considered a $1000 rain suit...

Momma and I have HD Hi Vis suits and we love them. About $250 a piece and worth every dollar.

Just rode through the rain again last week. Pouring hard, at times it was hard to see. The only parts of me that got wet were my face (I wear a half helmet) and my hands (fingerless gloves).

Like I said worth every penny.

I was gifted a Harley one, still pricey @ $200 but I have used it several times and it works really well.

Don't go cheap, but $1K's a bit extreme. HD's $100 - $200 suits work just fine and...keep you dry + don't melt on your hot parts. Anyone buying a $1K set of rain gear's just showing off their ca$h...IMO.

Know what I wear in the rain?

A comfy pair of old wranglers and my slippers sitting in my favorite chair watching reruns of Taxi.

The other day coming back from Devil's Tower we heard of a storm that actually closed the Boulder Canyon RD from Sturgis to Deadwood as it was ice from hailstones.

We opted to stay underneath an I 90 bridge for an hour waiting for everything to clear up, yelling at each other due to the roar of semi's and bike's doing 75-90 mph. lol..

Good thing for cell phones as it kept us in touch w/what was happening in the weather scene.

I have a 20 yr old rain/hurricane suit from a Boaters world [now closed] It's heavier and bulkier than HD and other suits but NOTHING keeps the rain at bay as good as boating foul weather gear. IMHO
The HD logo adds $100 to the price their suit too.
Came through some toad strangler rain saturday around Wildwood NJ, heavy enough to make me stop for a while, visabality almost "0". Bone dry underneath suit.

Harley makes a decent rain suit. So does Nelson Rigg and Frog Togg.
