Default no oil pressure

I took off on a road trip with 1,000 miles on 20-50 H-D dyno oil. 2,000 miles into the trip the lifters started making loud noises. Shut the engine off about 10 miles later at convenient location. Engine wouldn't restart and oil light came on. Towed to dealer. No oil in engine, and oil in oil pan was burnt and turned to sludge. What happened?

Never even bothered to check your oil or do a pre-ride inspection?

Old oil, clogged filter, oil starved engine, engine seizes = large lawn ornament. Sorry for your loss.

What happened?

You just learned an expensive lesson; THAT'S what happened.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR OIL EVERYDAY ON A ROAD TRIP! You're probably packed heavier than normal, running longer and hotter and it doesn't take long to mess things up. Even if your bike has never "used" oil in the past, it's cheap insurance.

Sorry for your bad luck! Hope you had extended warranty!

I dont think an extended warranty covers no oil in the engine. That's user error for not checking the condition and level of oil

What did happen? Where did your oil go? Too many people are jumping conclusions. When was the last time you checked your dip stick and actually looked at your oil level? Who did the oil change? Did you notice oil underneath the bike where it was parked? You most likely toasted your engine. Big question is how.

That's about 3,010 miles without checking the oil.
