Fear of Rain?

Fear of Rain?
Last weekend a group ride I planned to attend was cancelled because of a 30% chance of rain. A few of us optimists, who said the heck with it, went forward with the ride. And as it turned out we had a nice sunny day with no rain.
I won't leave home in rain, but I certainly won't cancel a ride because of a slight chance. This got me thinking. Why do some fear rain? Is it because your bike might get dirty, you have no rain gear, or are you concerned about safety in wet conditions?

Yep, I don't care about riding in the rain and if the bike is already dirty then it doesn't matter but I HATE cleaning it up afterwards, always have.

I rode home today in the rain and didn't even put on the rainsuit. It actually felt pretty good with how hot and humid it was the last few days.
The only time riding in the rain is a problem is when it first starts and brings the oils up in the pavement and makes it a little slippery other than that it don't bother me to much.

Cleaning the bike up after riding in the rain sucks but it's not a deal breaker. I won't leave in a hard rain but wont let it stop me if there's a small chance. In the summer they call for at least a 30% chance every day in this part of the country, at least they have this summer.
