Dealer told me today they release a month later than usual. So that would be September. And the next year they release October. They are doing that to bring more buyers in later in the season since it slows down. This is driven by the slow economy. They always sell bikes in season. So they want to drive more buyers into the showrooms later in the year to increase sales. Just what the owner at Chesapeake HD told me.

 

But we should at least know the 2013 data in 2 or 3 weeks. Right after the convention.

 

Makes sense to me, I was going to order a bike in June and all the dealerships in the area warned me that I needed to get my order in quick or I might have to wait for 2013 models.

Seems silly to have the order cut off that early into the riding season.

Lucky for me they took exactly what I wanted in on trade a few days later and were reasonable on price.

 

all the dealers here are receiving 2013 bikes in the next two weeks. havnt heard anything like what the op is talking about

 

Paperwork I got from my dealer states that my FLTRX's planned ship date is tomorrow 8-6-12. Will advise when it arrives

 

Went to dealer today and inquired about my 2013. They now tell me no bikes will be shipped until after the dealers meeting on 8-20-13. I spoke to the same person who 3 weeks ago told me that HD will be releasing 2013 bikes the week of 8-6-13 as long as they were the same model as was available in 2012 and it was just a color change. Its apparant that this person just has no idea what he is talking about, and now doesnt even recall telling me that, although right on my printout it states plant release date 8-6-12. I think members on forums can provide more information than the personnel at the dealer so I will not go back to the dealer until I get my phone call that the bike is in. I am sure when the 2013's start arriving at dealerships they will be all over the forum, and than I will see what the bikes look like in person, perhaps even make a better deal than the one I am waiting for.

Yes that information has been out for quite a while now. Just wondering when they will actually be released

 

CARB info has been out a while, not much new this year. Dealer meeting is around the 20th. So they will be on the website shortly after.

 

I've had a deposit down on a 2013 FLSTC Anniversary model since February of this year. Went to my dealer last week to see if he had any info on price yet. He said no info out yet, most likely after the dealer meeting towards the end of August. He still had no info on color combo either. Just have to wait I guess.
