Default 92 year old grandma crosses one off her bucket list

During my recent trip to Ely Minnesota I helped my 92 year old grandmother cross one off her bucket list. Seems she has wanted a motorcycle ride for a long time now. She kept saying "this is great!" and made me pass her driveway and turn around down the road a ways.

Many years ago, I did the same. My grandmother asked if I'd take her for a ride and I did. She was about 75 at the time. She grinned ear to ear the whole time. Got back home and my parents were in the driveway screaming and going through the roof! "What were you thinking? You'll end up killing her!", all the while my grandmother is calmly walking right past my hollering parents without saying a word and straight into the house. Grinning the whole time. She threw me right under the bus and left me to fend for myself with my Mom and Dad. If I had it to do all over, I'd do it again. It was worth the wrath I endured afterwords.

Great story. Congrats on making someones day. I bet she is already online looking at all of the great gear she is going to need for her new hobby.

You might want to plant the seed early that the assless chaps are only for serious long distance runs in cooler weather. Ha!

You did good gettin' her in the wind.

There is a bear exhibit with live bears west of town a mile and a wolf exhibit east of town. Both are worthwhile. Of course, the area is known for it's wilderness canoe camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area if you have a few days.
