Directional signal bulb

Directional signal bulb
Noticed my front directional was out on Saturday night, right before I was going out riding. Dealer was closed so I got one at an auto parts store that looked the same. Stuck it in and it's working fine. I looked in my owner's manual, and naturally it listed a Harley part number. Are these bulbs the same? If not, what's the difference? Also, the parts store had 3 or 4 that looked the same, but different part numbers. Anybody know?

RE: Directional signal bulb
No, Harley Davidson uses a special kind of electricity. Just kidding. If it lights up, it's good.

RE: Directional signal bulb
My tail light bulb went out, its tail light and brake. Number on the bulb didn't match up to anything, used a bulb for a trailer tail light and it works great. I doubt Harley makes light bulbs anyway.

Same thing here. Left rear bulb burned out. Local auto parts store has the same bulb but not Harley. Works great! Just make sure to get the bulb made for blinkers and watch for combo bulbs. Blinker vs Blinker+Driving light.
Otherwise not a problem!
Enjoy your new bulb!

On most bikes, frontsignal bulb is an 1157....rear signal is 1156...tail/stop is 3157 if its wedge or 1157 if not
