For those with the permament lead, what does the lead look like on the bike? I'm pretty sure I have one installed- just havn't had the time to trace it.

A pic would be great

Time to buy the actual unit.

You won't regret it!

Oddly enough, they had already put that lead on my bike at the dealer, and had it wound through under the seat. I didn't know what it was for until I had bought my Tender and went to install that line myself. Lo and behold, I didn't have to!

Same thing happened to me. Didn't know the dealer had already installed the pigtail until I pulled the seat off.

a good tender from PepBoys or Autozone with the terminal leads is about $18 bucks...

The HD is nearly $50 after you buy both pieces.

No pigtail hookup on my battery. Maybe they figure it is not needed when you can ride year round in Florida.
I take a couple of approx. 6 week trips, with my motorhome, during the spring and summer months so it might be a good idea to get a tender to use when I am gone.

Funny you mention that,I always wondered what they did with the charger. You'd think they'd give you the charger too.
