Contacts are the best way to go for sure, but if you have problems with contacts I would get transition lenses in riding glasses.

I'm an over-the-glasses kind of guy. For about $15 on Amazon you can pick up a few (smoke, amber, clear) pairs of Global Vision Outfitters which fit over just about any style of glasses and are safety rated. They scratch easily and the foam doesn't create a perfect seal, but at the price they're disposable.

More recently, I purchased a pair of Bobster Phoenix goggles which do a much better job on the fit and come with the 3 types of lenses for about $45. I just did a jaunt the other week that included several miles on dry dirt roads and I was super happy to have goggles covering my eyes. The only caveat on the recommendation is that they only fit over medium to smaller frame glasses that sit close to the face.

I have a pair of prescription Oakley Fuel Cells with polarized lenses. I also have a prescription pair of Oakley Fives Squared with transitions lenses in them. That would be your best bet IMO. You can wear them during the day or at night.

I wear contacts & either clear or smoke MC glasses with the foam on the inside for wind protection. Works for me.

being blind as a bat, this is what I did. It allows me to wear sun glasses or goggles when needed.

The easiest solution is a face shield on the helmet. Personally, I do not like goggles: uncomfortable and bad fit.

I wear prescription sunglasses by Ray Ban, who at the time were the only manufacturers that had a lens material that could take my prescription in a wrap-around style frame.

I can't wear contacts myself; don't blink enough.
