S100

The detailer is great for getting all the bugs off the batwing after a evening ride.

I wash my bike before I ride while the metal is cool so the S-100 doesn't dry quickly. I use it as a pre-wash before spraying the bike lightly with a garden hose and then washing it with a sponge, scrub brush, a bucket full of water and Gunk or Turtle concentrated car wash. With this method I have no need for a high pressure spray, and I do own a pressure washer. I usually raise the bike about 6" with my (yellow) Sears mcyc/ATV jack so I can rotate the wheels when I'm scrubbing them. It's a good time to check the tire pressure too.

Tell me a little more about these products please?

I've been using it since I started riding in 06, never an issue, in fact I buy it by the gallon, use almost one spray bottle per wash. Love the stuff. Garden hose pressure is enough to rinse, and after reading some horror stories, I rinse the whole bike 2 sometimes 3 times. Dry it with a 200mph electric leaf blower and finish it off with 3M or Harley detailer and a microfiber towel. When they are really dirty I use the good old Maguire car soap and bucket of water method

I cut the S100 about 50% with water. It still cleans just as well, and goes further (I'm poor/cheap). Also, thoroughly rinse the bike with cold water before applying the S100 and use lots of water to rinse afterward. Work on one section of the bike at a time, and keep the surfaces wet. I've been using it ever since it came out over 20 years ago.
Plain soap and water is fine, but it won't touch baked on road grime on your engine and exhaust pipes unless you can scrub it with a brush, and there are too many places on a bike that get dirty that you just can't reach. That's where S100 really shines (so to speak).
Those of you who "never ride in the rain" won't understand this, of course.

I've tried it, but I think it's even more caustic than S100. Also, I find the wintergreen smell of it makes me nauseous. Ever since I was a child, and Mom would give me Pepto-Bismol for nausea, I can't tolerate the smell of wintergreen, as I associate it with throwing up.
