Default DB ratings of exhaust? Can slash cuts be as loud as others? Want a loud system

Where can I find the DB noise rating of different pipes? Have Rush 1.75 slips on right now. Would a different baffle make my slips ons louder?

I will stick with the earlier suggestion of keeping some sort of baffle for back pressure. Want it as loud as possible without causing my engin to run bad.

How much louder would a full system be? Was told that it would be only slightly louder, would be twice as loud, etc etc. I love the look of slash cuts. Is it possible to have slash cuts be as loud as any other system? What style or make of system is super loud?

Have been looking at pipes for weeks and am still lost.

I want a loud idol and super loud when driving. I have a 103 engine.

I guess I just don't get it. Why purposely give LEOs a very valid reason to target you?? I live in PA and have 2 buddies with obnoxiously loud bikes. Any time we ride, it's a PITA! We have to avoid "this town" and "that county" because they always get fined when they ride in those areas. In a group, I make them ride in the back of the pack because riding any where near them is just unbearable and takes all of the enjoyment out of the ride. I don't think they got enough attention as children and are now trying to attract as much as they can as adults. What other reason would there be?

That being said, if you want loud pipes and are not sure what setup to get, try going to a lot of bike shows & local bike nights, etc. Find someone with your motor and pipes you're interested in and have them fire it up for you to hear. I've heard of guys watching youtube videos for the same purpose, but I think that hearing different setups in person is much better.

Each baffle size increase will increase the volume about 3 db and lower/deepen the note. Upgrading to the 2.25" or 2.50" baffle sizes will be a substantial difference from the 1.75" baffles. What type of bike do you have? Does it have stock headpipes?

I have a fatboy with a 103 and factory head pipes. Threw the Rush 1.75 slip ons on. So larger baffles would make it louder? How hard to change baffles and which baffles will make it the loudest?

1. No matter what, the shorter the pipe the louder it will be. Big radius are short and short shots are even shorter.

2. If you leave baffles in, then the pipes can have some very different sounds as far as pitch, tone. and volume.

3. If you really want as loud and obnoxious as possible then get yourself some Big City Thunder baffles. They don't quiet the exhaust at all but do maintain proper back pressure.

Here is a youtube video of some Rush slip-ons on a 103.

The last part of the video lets you hear them with no baffles in and just some Thunder Torque Inserts.

With just the TTI's in they produced more power than when it had the baffles in, AND it is louder.
