Those things are sweet. Always get a kick out of seeing those guys flying around town on a detail. I swear the bikes they use for the caravans are tuned and sound completely different from the standard duty bikes. We've got secret service uniformed division, us park police, us capital police, metro police and bikes from surrounding counties moving through dc all the time.

I was on a ride last night through rock creek park and had a park police office pull on me out of nowhere. That thing was spitting pure hellfire out of its exhaust too. Never heard pipes like that before.

 

Many Departments have their own motor pools and mechanics so they get the bikes tuned properly and since most cops won't be giving an on duty motor cop a ticket for loud pipes or EPA issues the sky's the limit.

 

Newer LEO harleys run the 110 motor. One reason for the giddy-up.

BTW, Philadelphia LEO was killed while riding his Harley home from work. Drunk driver going the wrong way on I-95. Driver is charged with vehicular homocide and DUI.
