If it is level Iback in. If it is down hill I back in. If it is up hill I go in with the front tire. It ain't easy backing a bike out of a spot if you have to push it uphill backward.

In off thread response ....The kill switch, 'makes you have to be really aware you are about to start your engine'... as voiced by many o f the MSF Instructors in the East.
It becomes a matter of good habits. I even kick up into neutral to start, and have had to rock her a few times. I have started in gear a few times, until I got distracted in conservation at the curb and jumped my bagger out into the street a bit. That's a wake up.

Its also how i got my nickname, got caught riding in the snow up in estes park by some of my hog chapter members.
lol our head road captains words were, "What the hell kinda moron is out here riding in the snow??? Oh... Its Mike....."

Same as above. Depends on the incline. At Walmart or stores, Park on sidewalk in front. I have caught unruly kids climbing on by bike when I parked it in the regular parking lot. Don't do that no more.
