The sky is the limit when it comes to things you can do to an Evo.Poke a 131" Evo between your FatBoy framerails and see if that don't put a smile on your face. With framework you can go even bigger, say 155",engines this size will get you what your after.Good Luck! Maybe get into a VRod then you will know for sure which will be best for you.

The V-Rod has 126hp, doesn't redline till 9k rpms, and pulls the whole way.

Your brother is a wise man. Every bike I've sold I wish I had back.

I agree there is plenty you can do to an Evo to add power. The only thing to think about with your Fatboy is that frame won't turn, brake, or handle any better so make sure you're on a nice stretch of road before you open it up. Brakes and suspension can be upgraded too, but it's still a Softail, not a canyon carver. I vote for having both.

A VRod is NOT a canyon carver, it is made to go fast in a straight line.

^^^^ Exactly !

I love my 06 VRSCA for the type of driving I typically enjoy. Two to three year olds with low miles are available at bargain prices (IMO). Upgrading performance on a FatBoy to anything near a VRod would require massive money.

The drawbacks would include: It's not designed to be a long distance tour bike. Not much ability to include a passenger in comfort. Get an 07 or newer for the 5 gal tank and 1250cc.

I'm completely happy riding the red headed stepchild of Harley. Speeeed, power, performance plus, rock solid engine/drive chain. No problems...
