Glad you're okay, by that I mean you'll heal 100% and the wife just got bruise.. Good you were wearing a helmet too, this could have been really ugly.
A 17 year old girl took me out 2 years ago as well. I was luckier than you.
Now lets just hope it was our last!

Seriously, glad you're OK. Sounds like you did everything you should/could have, once again proving, even when you ride the right way, you can still get taken out.

Did you have gap insurance? Considering your present financial situation, are you gonna replace the bike?

Good luck on your recovery.
Turns out I owed $5000 less then what it's worth so no need for gap.
And yes I will get another bike but will go for a cheaper used one this time.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I"m glad your ok and you have a good witness to your case. It's shocking how stupid people can be. She won't be driving for a pretty long time..haha.

Glad you all were not hurt any worse.
Sounds like just a dumb kid made a mistake.
Try not to be too hard on her, she has probably learned a very
hard and expensive lesson and hopefully will be telling all her
knuclehead fellow 17 y/o drivers to watch out for us!!
DO NOT settle with her ins co until your sure what your
costs and injuries are. Hire a lawyer to speak for you if needbe, guarantee
her ins co has plenty if lawyers on their side.

Not saying sue just cause you can just that they will not pay you
for your real damages unless they have to.

Post up your shiny new ride when you get one.

Ditto. Glad you're relatively ok and your wife came out of it relatively unscathed. "I didn't see them" is the excuse they use. Really she should have said, "I didn't look".

Crazy you just started that thread about possibly giver her up last week. I'm so glad you're okay for the most part, and glad to hear you'll be getting a new bike again.

I can't say anything about the girl that hit you. It sucks. I'll tell you this much, if she was MY daughter she wouldn't be driving again without me in the car. Clearly she needs help, and doesn't understand how important it is to watch out.

I'm am so thankful you guys are okay. I know I said it once, but that's the truth twice over.

I feel your pain, glad your wife was not hurt. I am in the same boat, bike totaled, 4 broken ribs, but glad to be alive. Some douche lost control of his vehicle and knocked me down at 65 MPH on the highway. I am two weeks into this now and it sucks, no riding, Dealing with Doctors and insurance. I would retain a lawyer if I were you, yeah they take 1/3rd but the insurance companies will fight tooth and nail not to compensate you for your property loss and pain and suffering. Best of luck to you and hope you will have your knees in the breeze again.

Wow, I hate to say it, but the accident actually turned out to be a good thing for you. No doubt there will be a settlement from her insurance company so, congrats!

IDK though, given the nature of your other thread, I have to wonder if it really was an "accident"! just messin' with ya'

That's tough. Glad you'll be ok and the wife walked away. You'll be up and around soon.
