Whats it worth 2 bikes
1.Okay everyone I have a 72 or 74 (not sure have to run the vin) Sportster XLH completley torn down to the frame engine might need a rebuild not sure but at least a freshening up. What do you think this bike would be worth?
2. The other bike is a 69 Sportster XLCH on a chopper frame the engines a magneto if that is a significant factor again completley torn down and missing trans id consider this a parts bike. Again whats it worth?
Would really appreciate any coments you have also. Thanks Chris

RE: Whats it worth 2 bikes
For the 1972 or 1974: The 1st & 2nd digits in the VIN indicate the model - 3A = XL or XLH, 4A = XLCH.
the 3rd thru 7th digits indicate the production number. The last 2 digits indicate the year - H2 = 1972, H4 = 1974. Either way, basket case Sporty from this era is worth about $1000 - $1500 max, less if it needs an engine overhaul.
1969 chop rigid frame w/o tranny guts - $500 to $1000 depending on condition of engine, and what kind of rigid frame.
Those are my opinions on the price. Your may differ.
