Default Adjusting FB shock

Did a search and found a rider that suggested using a rag and a pair of channel locks to adjust the shocks. Any tips on doing it? The manual is super vague and doesn't cover much on the subject. Can I geta generic wrench? I don't feel like spending H-D (hundred dollars) at the stealership. Thanks all

Default Shock Wrench

You can also use a strap wrench. Sears sells them made out of plastic and rubber that will not scratch your shocks. The Harley wrench will scratch your shocks if it slips out of the hole.
