Default Totaled bike and skinned pride

We I finaly totaled one and got my skinned *** good. I am lucky it was no worse than it was. Several spots of new skin growing and a few stitches to keep my arm together and ill be fine. My Dragen jeans saved my legs ill be going back to Hickory NC to get a nother pair of them. My bike is totaled according to the insurance Co. I hit a corner to hard and drifted to the shoulder and when it hit the soft dirt that was all she wrote. The frount tire dug in and the bike pitched end over end. I saw a choice for a guard rail.... a ruff ride... or asphalt surfing.... well jumping into the asphalt wave I went. My brother behind me split the differance between me and the bike and all is well that ends well. Now disisions to make. A nother 88 Ultra classic try a 96 ultra classic or try to scape up the $ for a 103? I went and checked on bikes the day after my Leap. A lot will depend on the insurance and how well i am covered. so far progressive has been good we will see how it follows through. any Ideas on the 103's how are thay doing?

Will add pics later .....

Sorry to hear this man, any total loss that you can walk away from is a win if you ask me.
Hope your insurance comes through for you.
Happy 4th!

I like "short stroke" motors, like my 95" and the 88" (99-06.) But I am biased in that my bike hits 111,000 miles this weekend on my way up to Ohio to visit friends.

If newer is better for you, then 2009 and up. The 07 and 08 had the goofy taller gearing, no upgraded compensators, no IDS on the 07, and ( though not a problem with me,) the "old" frame. ( I think Harley was still getting used to that cheap cast crank starting in 07 too.)

As for me, if I ever get another bike, it'll be a 99 to 02.

I love my 2011 Ultra Classic Lt. I had 2 Goldwing 03 and 08 and this 2011 with the 103 and 6 speed comes in very close to them. My last H.D. was a 99 Classic and this 2011 really out performs the 99. I love to roll the throttle back when I hit the on ramp to the expressway nothing but power and acceleration.

You're right! Anything you can walk away from is a Win!! Progressive did alright by me, I Totaled my ride about two weeks ago, and they paid for the bike and "extras" safety equipment, crash bars lights, my Jacket etc.
Hope you heal fast, and go sit on a few at your local dealer
