Default Shoei?

I went in today to my local Cyclegear and tried on the Shoei RF-1100 even though I knew it just doesn't fit me right, and to my surprise it DIDN'T fit me right! So then the nice pretty lady said hey why don't you try on the Shoei Quest its made for peeps with a bit more of a round dome, thinking to myself "I know its not gonna fit me right" and what do ya know it fit like a glove!

From what I've read the Quest is about the same weight, but is suppose to be more quiet. So my questions is, does anyone have the Quest that can give me more insight on it?

Quest is an intermediate oval shape. Nice bonnet, good air flow. Not church quiet, but lots better than a half helmet.

I have a Qwest. I don't really know what shape my head is, but I will say the helmet fits very well. The cheek pads are a little snug for my preference, but those are changeable.

One thing that let me down was the ventilation; its not very good, at least compared to my HJC.

Is there anything in specific you're wondering about?

How is the weight? I am coming from a Scorpion Exo 400, so I am pretty sure the ventilation is a huge upgrade. This will be only my second helmet and I was having a bit of trouble finding a helmet that didn't hurt my head. Any other suggestions of helmets that are of the same head shape?

I picked up a black, like new Shoei RF1100 at the Goodwill store for 25.00., with a bag.

I was looking at getting the Shoei Qwest myself. This thread interests me.

The weight isn't bad, its not miraculously light weight, but probably lighter than most. One thing I like it the peripheral view is WAY better than any full face I've worn. The front of the helmet sits a lot closer to my face than my HJC. If you keep the shield clean, you'll forget you're even wearing a helmet. I have to strain my eyes if I want to catch a glimpse of the helmet out of my peripheral.

Like has been mentioned, its not a very quiet helmet. Probably about average.
