I'm thinking bout change my exhaust setup on my 2012 SG to the black 4" rienharts. Therefore I've got to change the heat shields to black. I've heard that the blAck heat shields stain real easy ie. washing it while it's still hot or spilling something on them while at bike night then starting it. Does anyone have any input on this??

 

Yes the flat black is tough to keep clean. Water spots and cooked bugs seem to always show.

 

I have black rineharts for 2 years with black heat shields and have no stains. I rode in lots of bad weather and dirt and they are still like new.

 

I have black pipes. The V&H but I would think same principal. The bugs are a bit tougher to get off, but a little work and they look great. No stains.
